Powder or tablet? Both sit alongside brushing and regular dental checks. The right choice depends on the ingredients and format you prefer.
Brushing physically disrupts plaque and remains the clearest home-care starting point when your dog will tolerate it. Build up gradually with a dog-safe toothpaste; human toothpaste is not suitable. Appropriate dental chews may also help, but they do not replace checking the mouth.
Persistent bad breath can accompany dental disease. Red or bleeding gums, visible heavy tartar, loose teeth, facial swelling, dropping food or reluctance to eat need veterinary attention. A breath tablet should never be used to cover those signs.
A daily powder or tablet may sit alongside brushing and dental checks. Choose on ingredients and format: Plaque Defence is predominantly Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed; Fresh Breath Tablets combine peppermint, parsley and kelp.
